COBBLER'S DREAM by Monica Dickens, ©1963

The book from which it all started. The name "Follyfoot" is not mentioned at all if I recall correctly, but the main characters are there.

"The life of the ageing, ailing horses at their Midlands rest home is not always placid. The living-for-kicks Night-Riders must have their sport. But the Captain, who runs the home, and his young helpers, Paul and Dora, love their charges and are devoted to cushioning them against the ravages of age and the cruelty of man."

FOLLYFOOT by Monica Dickens, ©1971

At Follyfoot Farm, the Colonel looks after old and ill-treated horses, helped by his stepdaughter, Callie, and two stable-hands, Dora and Steve*. These three have plenty to do at the stables, but can always find time to get involved in the mystery and adventure that abound at Follyfoot Farm.

(*In the Piccolo 1971 edition at least, it's "Paul", not "Steve".)

"Life can never be dull for young Callie or her family. There is always so much to do on the farm - tending unwanted horses, providing mounts for film companies, schooling ponies, helping unlucky holidaymakers and keeping a wary eye on the unscrupulous owners of the Pinecrest riding stables ..."

DORA AT FOLLYFOOT by Monica Dickens, ©1971

A story featuring the characters who first appeared in Follyfoot. With the Colonel away, Dora and Steve are left in charge of Follyfoot Farm. When Dora decides to buy Amigo, an old lame horse, everyone at the farm helps her to win the Moonlight Pony Steeplechase and pay back the money.

THE HORSES OF FOLLYFOOT by Monica Dickens, ©1975

"An American visitor to Follyfoot, Mr Blankenheimer, is so impressed that he wants to start a similar Home of Rest for Horses back in the US, and invites Dora over for three weeks to advise him and to ride Robin, a beautiful bay horse. When Dora is presented with Robin as a gift to take back to Follyfoot, she can't believe her luck. But once they're back at Follyfoot, things start to go badly wrong. One of the horses falls ill and it looks like encephalitis. An epidemic is sweeping America and Dora knows that Robin could have brought it to England."

STRANGER AT FOLLYFOOT by Monica Dickens, ©1976

"Times are tough at Follyfoot, the Home of Rest for old, sick and maltreated horses. Costs are rising, and somehow or other Dora, Steve, Slugger and Callie must make economies. Certainly they can't take in any more horses while the Colonel is away ..."

NEW ARRIVAL AT FOLLYFOOT by Monica Dickens

This less commonly seen book appears to have been first published posthumously in 1995.
