Gillian Blake
played the main character Dora Maddox, niece to the Colonel who's parents leave her with
him to take up a Diplomatic position in South America. She comes from a priviliged
but disfunctional upbringing, her parents being strangers to her. A product of an
expensive education, private tutors and a finishing school. She is approximately
17 or 18 years old at the start of the series. I recently found out that Gillian's birthyear is listed as 10th May 1949,(thanks to the German Bravo,Bravo magazine and Sabrina) which made her 22 when she started work on the series.
Gillian studied acting at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and appeared in several tv series before starring in Follyfoot.
They included an episode of the tv series Doomwatch - No Room For Error written by Roger Parkes, produced by Terrance Dudly, aired on 11/1/1971 as the character Sheila Grant. A BBC Comedy Playhouse- The Loves of Larch Hill written by Anne Burnaby, produced
by Eric Fawcett, aired in 1969. Gillian played the character of Alison "smudge" Love.
It is also reported that Gillian had a part in the movie "Goodbye, Mr.Chips"
Since the Follyfoot series there is no information available as to Gillians subsequent
career or present whereabouts. Her last unconfirmed address was somewhere in Dereham, Norfolk,
UK.

Special Hi-Resolution treat for Dora fans. The two images below come in two sizes -
